Google, Find My Phone, Please!
People say “I don’t need google, my wife knows everything!”. But sometimes, even your wife can’t help you to find out where you left your phone – be it under the cushion or at the office or at the wine shop! Now, if you have Android Device Manager (ADM) App installed and configured on your Android device, you can go to Google search box and ask “Find My Phone”.
If the Google map locates your phone at your home, you can have your device ring at full volume for 5 minutes to help you find it. You can press the power button to stop the ringing. The device rings even if it was on mute or vibration.
If you had left the device at office or bar or somewhere else, you can locate it on the map revealing it’s current location. In order for the ADM to work, you need to do this before your device battery dies, and you should have data connection on the phone.
The ‘Find My Phone’ Google search function works only if you have installed and configured the ADM and if you are logged on to your Google account.
But if you want to lock or erase your device, you will still need to use the Android Device Manager for that.
